Successful application for the establishment of ISO Karst Technical Committee (ISO/TC 319)

The IRCK worked hard to promote the application of ISO Karst Technical Committee established in China in 2018. The IRCK participated in the video promotion and defense on April 27, and the representatives from France, Spain, Malaysia and Norwayetc gave an introduction. The application was approved by ISO Technical Committee in June, 2018. The new technical committee has six participating states including China, Austria, Canada, Lithuania, Portugal and Russian Federation, and twenty-two observing states including Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Italy, Japan, Latvia, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Spain, United Republic of Tanzania, Thailand and the United States. The establishment of ISO Karst Technical Committee will contribute much to the international karst research and help unify the related international standards on karst and coordinate international experts to conduct karst research jointly. The first plenary meeting is planned to be held no later than June 2019.
